MALABAR SPINACH VINE (Basella rubra)
An edible spinach producing dense deep violet flowers then producing berries. This plant grows as a twining vine and is a great ornamental specimen. House wrens are attracted to the foliage where they can build their nests underneath the thick overlapping leaves. Leaves turn deep red as plants mature towards fall.
